Child Care

What are my options for child care?

In general, there are three types of child care. An R&R specialist will help you determine the type of care most suited to you and your child. You may find that you would like to check out the different types. R&R provides referrals to licensed providers only.
  • Child Care Centers are licensed by the State to care for 12 or more children in a group setting. Generally, centers are located in public and private schools, religious facilities, or other buildings owned or leased by the child care provider.

  • Licensed Family Child Care is offered in the home of a State licensed provider to care for up to 8 children with one adult or up to 14 children with an assistant provider present.

  • License-Exempt Care is home-based care for children from one family. Home-based providers can care for their own children and the children of one family. R&R does not provide referrals to license-exempt providers, but does offer many services to help them provide quality care to your children.
