UTILITY ASSISTANCE

For PG&E customers

CARE Discount Program provides a 20% discount on utility bills for income qualified households. You can apply as a residential single-family customer or as a tenant of sub-metered mobile home parks, marinas or apartments. PG&E verifies eligibility every 2 years. Call 866-743-2273 for an application.

FERA (Family Electric Rate Assistance) Program provides an electric rate reduction for large households of 3 or more people with low to middle incomes. If you get the CARE discount, you can't get FERA. Call 800-PGE-5000 for more information.

Energy Partners Program provides free weatherization and energy-efficient appliances to reduce gas and electricity usage of qualified low income customers. The program may provide attic insulation, replacement windows and doors and possibly appliances. Call Smarter Energy Line at 800-933-9555 to get started.

Medical Baseline Program gives the lowest rates to customers with documented medical needs. Call 800-PGE-5000 for more information.

For Redding Electric Utility customers

Redding Electric Utility offers several programs for low income households, low income seniors and low income disabled customers.
