How much does it cost?
No-cost or Pregnancy-only Medi-Cal
- You will not have to pay for your prenatal care, your delivery or your postpartum care.
- Even if you have an increase in your income during your pregnancy or the baby’s first year, you or your baby will not lose Medi-Cal coverage or have to pay a share of cost.

Share of Cost Medi-Cal
- You pay your Share of Cost (SoC) each month before Medi-Cal pays.
- Your SoC is determined by your family income and your property limits.
- If you have SoC, it is important to complete your Medi-Cal application as you could experience high costs for your delivery and Medi-Cal can help pay for your care.
- If you have SoC, you may be eligible for Access for Infants and Mothers (see section on AIM).
